ASTM A995 Grade 6A (UNS designation CD3MWCuN) is a highly alloyed super-duplex stainless steel specified for pressure-containing castings. It is characterized by its dual-phase microstructure of roughly equal parts austenite and ferrite, providing an exceptional combination of mechanical strength and resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking in aggressive environments

Chemical Composition

Grade 6A incorporates carefully balanced levels of chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen alongside additions of copper and tungsten to maximize corrosion resistance.

• Chromium (Cr): 24.0% – 26.0%
• Nickel (Ni): 6.5% – 8.5%
• Molybdenum (Mo): 3.0% – 4.5%
• Nitrogen (N): 0.20% – 0.30%
• Copper (Cu): 0.50% – 1.00%
• Tungsten (W): 0.50% – 1.00%
